The Council for Basic Education has completed the first significant study of how the No Child Left Behind Act is influencing instructional time and professional development in key subject areas. The findings reveal that schools are spending more time on reading, math, and science but squeezing out social studies, civics, geography, languages, and the arts. Learn more »

On March 25, 2004 Murray State University held its annual Foreign Language Festival. Congratulations to the overall Sweepstakes Winners for French, Spanish, and Latin: Murray High School, as well as Ft. Campbell High School for German. Special recognition goes out to the 2nd place overall winners: Fort Campbell High School (French), Lone Oak High School (Spanish), Christian Fellowship School (German), and Calloway County High School (Latin).
