Updated Festival Schedule Released

You can now download and print the updated festival schedule as well as directions to the UK campus and a campus map. Please note: several competitions will be taking place in new venues this year due to renovations and construction on the UK campus. Some last minute changes are still possible and you will need to pick up an updated schedule when you first arrive for the festival on Saturday, May 14th. Schedules will be available at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor of the Old Student Center (across from Starbucks) starting at 8am. KWLA member becomes Fulbright Teacher

fullbright.gifKWLA member and Spanish teacher, Anne Smieszny (Villa Madonna Academy), was chosen to participate in the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program in Bogota, Colombia during the 2005/2006 school year. CONGRATULATIONS! Anne's students will learn from Luisa Ortiz, a teacher from the school in Bogota. Smieszny has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Linguistics from Ohio State University, and has recently completed a master's degree in teaching from Northern Kentucky University.

Call for Papers Extended

You can still submit a proposal for the 2005 KWLA Fall Conference (September 22-24). Please consider sharing a wonderful teaching idea during the KWLA Shorts, a teaching unit for a 30 minute session, a research paper, or even a 3-hour workshop. Complete the proposal form and submit it by April 1, 2005 as soon as possible.
