Central States Conference Proposals

csc_logo.gif Conference Theme: Turning Today's Students Into Tomorrow's Stars
Conference Date: March 6-8, 2008
Place: Dearborn, Michigan (Detroit area)
Deadline for Proposals: April 15, 2007
Web site: www.csctfl.org/

Have you noticed how today's students have changed in recent years?
It seems that more and more of them don't do homework, don't study,
don't pay attention in class, and don't have any idea why they aren't
learning. What's more: it seems that more and more parents have
either given up or are wringing their hands in frustration.

So. . . we would like to issue a challenge to all of you
hard-working, determined, and committed teachers out there to share
some of your successful strategies and techniques with us at our 2008
conference.

Some suggested topics of interest:
* motivating reluctant learners
* new methods and techniques
* differentiated instruction
* teaching study skills
* dealing with children of poverty
* communicating with and assisting parents
* classroom management: rewards, discipline, grading systems, etc.

Foreign language will soon become a requirement for graduation in
Michigan and foreign language teachers will be soon be seeing even
more unmotivated students in their classes. How are other teachers in
other states with such requirements dealing with this challenge?
Share your expertise and ideas with others who are equally committed
to helping today's students become the stars of tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing you in Dearborn in 2008.
